Purpose of this exercise

* To develop the love of nature in children.

*It allows children to expose to a variety of nature contexts, environmental through hands-on activities.

*improves a young child’s visual-spatial learning and observation skills.

*To provide opportunities for children to develop self-confidence while exploring their natural surroundings.

*To support and enhance each child’s inherent “sense of wonder.”

The activity:

Taking the child spend time outside the house. Allow the child to observe the surrounding. Help the child to collect various type of flowers, leaves, twigs,branches, dried leaves, stones, fruits and so on. Allow the child to touch then give the vocabulary for experiences and concepts such as red, green, small, long, rough, smooth, hard and soft.

We collected these from our garden.

The various type of flowers and leaves in different shapes and colours.

Xuen matches the name to the objects accordingly using word tags.

The objects are taged accordingly
