Fabric Flower Tutorial

As I promised in my previous post (DIY head band http://wp.me/pm8TM-ng), I am now updating the tutorial for fabric flower.

Material : Felt, scissor, thread and needle.

I love felt craft especially felt flower. You can easily create many beautiful and lovely flower patterns with felt. Besides, you don’t have to worry about the fraying edge.

Step 1

Cut out five “petals” from a piece of felt cloth. They should be about two inches.

Step2

Thread together all the felt petals. A thread is sewn through the bottom edge of the felt petal (as shown).

Step3

Pull the thread tight, so that the felt gathers together to form the flower. You can add a button at the center of the flower. Isn’t this lovely? Hope you will like it.

Easy Head Band – recycle pant

I adore beautiful fabric head bands with lovely flowers on it. You can often see hand made or semi handmade head bands at street bazaar or shopping complex. I would like to have those cute stuffs for my two little girls but most head bands sold are quite expensive. So I decided to make it myself by using those old children pants that I have at home. This project is so easy and it only require very little sewing. I bet you will love it!

Firstly, collect those old pants you have at home. Cut out the rubber waist band as shown in the picture. I am going to turn it into a lovely head band.

The band is ready, now the next step is to decorate it.

I attached the lovely flower on the rubber waist band by stitching it on.

I made these for my girls. It is so easy and inexpensive. Sorry, I have to put the tutorial of the two lovely flowers on my next post as I got to take care of these two little girls of mine. They are not feeling well. Right now my hubby is taking care of them and I can hear the waa…waa…from the little one. Catch up then!

Bling-bling Sequin basket

This lovely handmade sequin storage basket was bought from designer Zang Toi’s Cafe. With a massive amount of finely sewed sequins, the combination of black and silver made for a gorgeous combination of color and class. A perfect storage basket for small items such as hairpins, ribbons and a small vanity mirror. My daughter loves to keep her accessories in here. Don’t you think it is a perfect bling-bling gift for Christmas?

Cute cookies

My four years old daughter was smiling from ear to ear when she received a lovely packet of cookies from a lady who made cute and nice cookies.

(Sorry, no tutorial for this project because it was not done by me.) However, good things are meant for sharing, and I would like to share these lovely cookies with you all here. I believed anyone who love baking can made these easily. Well, I would like to try to make one of this cookie once my two hands are free.

My favorite cute doggies. The brown ears are made of cocoa crunch, and black sesames were used for making the eyes.

So cute and it tastes nice too. It makes a good party snack. Not only kids love it, adult like me will be please to have it for tea too .

DIY T-shirt Flower

I am delighted to share another simple and cute t-shirt flower with you all. It required a little sewing but the whole project only took less than 30 minutes.

How To Do?

Step 1: To make the flower petals, you will need to cut out 9 pairs of petal shape as shown in the photos. (You don’t need to cut the shape perfectly). I used red and yellow for this project.

Step2: Now pair the yellow and red together.

Step3: Stitch all the paired petals together.

Step4: Gather all the petals by pulling each petals closely. To make the center piece: cut out a circle and fold into quarter. Then insert it at the center of the flower and stitch to hold it.

I sewed it on my daughter’s plain singlet:)

Refashion T-shirt-Raffles flower

Since the day I learned how to make raffles or T-shirt flower, I had fallen in love with it. I am making more raffles by refashion the old t-shirts I collected.

I’ve got something to share with you today. I just turned my plain greyish t-shirt into something more awesome by adding on frills and raffles at one side. Look, isn’t it lovely?

I applied the same method for making this t-shirt. I sewed it downward this time with only using three to four cut out flower petals for each flower. Hope you like this simple and lovely raffles. Make one for your old t-shirt today!

DIY -Beaded glass

My dad bought these gorgeous handmade glasses from Turkey. They were fully decorated with tiny beads by using multi purpose glue to hold the beads on the glass surface. I will try to make one once I am free. keep you all update later.

Fun t-shirt crafts- T-shirt flower.

I turned my old T-shirts into something more awesome. First, I gathered the old T-shirts and started on this fun and lovely DIY t-shirt flowers.

Step 1 Choose the color from your old T’s. Cut out the T-shirt in the shape of flower as shown in the photo. You may need to cut out 12 to 16 pieces. Don’t worry, you don’t have to cut it perfectly neat. It can be round, heart or flower shape

Step 2 Do a little stitches at the center of the flower.

Step 3 Repeat Step two by adding on another piece of cut flower underneath the top one. Keep doing this and you will see your flower looks like this.

I finished it by adding on a thin green ribbon. Now you can try to make one beautiful t-shirt flower for your plain T-shirt by using the old t-shirts you have at home.

DIY Sandwich Cake for 11-11-11

Today the special date of 11-11-11. I planned a simple and lovely activity for Xuen to carry out during her cooking lesson at home. We scheduled Friday as play day for Xuen and friends. Kids cooking is one of the Friday activity. So, today we are making ‘sandwich cake’ for a little celebration of 11-11-11.

This was my last minute idea. I used whatever Ingredients I have and turned it into a lovely ‘sandwich cake’. It only took 30 minutes to complete.

How to do

Three slices of bread spread with almond chocolate in between each slice. Decorate the top with marshmallows and red heart sugars.

This is one of the best kids cooking recipe which did not involve baking. Fast, easy and nice. No mess too:P…

Time is flying…11-11-11 will soon slip away. I do hope that all the little things I did with Xuen and baby Lyn will give them good memories and grow with them. Wish everyone have a wonderful 11-11-11. May your dreams come true.
